After the birthday party, the Mystery Speaker was unveiled by Tim VeArd ...

Now comes, what we hope will be a special moment for everyone.  At the past few reunions, we honored our crew by giving awards like --- who made the most patrols, who qualified first and who was the first or last onboard the Lee.  While a well meaning gesture, it only honored a few out of the many who served on our boat.  At this reunion, we wanted to honor each and every one of you for your service.  Not just a handful of you.

We hoped to have the great, great Grandson of our General speak here tonight.  But, it was not to be. Then it dawned on us, why not just let the USS Robert E. Lee speak for her self about what each of you did for your country during your time onboard? The video that you are about to see was a labor of love of over 300 hours for Lynda and I.  We hope we’ve done both you and our boat justice …
