The phrase Bravo Zulu came from the
Allied Signal Book which defines Signal Flag codes. The flag for the
letter "B" starts a message, followed by one or more flags. The flag
for the letter "Z" flag is defined as "Well Done". Over the years, the
Navy adopted the phrase in letters and radio messages to just "BZ" or "Bravo
Zulu" to congratulate a ship or individual for a job or mission being WELL
DONE. |
|
All Bravo Zulu plaques awarded at the
Reunion were 9 x 12 inches, in full color on cherry wood. Each had the
images shown on the left below, with the text show on the right. |

For
Extraordinary Contributions
Our 7th Reunion held in New Orleans, from
September 26 -27, 2003, was made more special by both of you going above and
beyond the call of duty to help us organize several of the functions held
during the reunion. Your efforts not only helped make the reunion a success
by serving as the Board of Directors local representative and assisting us
in many tasks. Arranging for the US Navy Band, the US Navy Color Guard and
your Krewes Revelers helped make this an event that none of us will soon
forget. |
